Valley of Syracuse June 2013 News

5/23/2013

Sublime Princes,

Installation of officers will take place on June 3. Social hour will begin at 6 PM, dinner at 6:30 PM and public installation of all four body officers following the dinner. Bro. Leon Bulriss will become Thrice Potent Master in the Lodge of Perfection, Bro. Dave Barnello enters his third term as Sovereign Prince, Bro. George Laird rises to Most Wise Master, and Illustrious Robert Tyrell ascends to the duties of Commander-in-Chief. The public installation of our officers is always a significant moment in our work as a Valley, and especially so when we install a Commander-in-Chief. Please make every effort to support all our officers on June 3 by attending.

We will soon enter the summer, but we have work to do in our Valley. Scottish Rite helps in the Masonic Safety ID at the State Fair. Your participation will help us in the important Masonic outreach. Members from our Valley will present the 21st degree at the New York State Council of Deliberation on July 27. The Knights of St. Andrew are planning a group activity on August 10, the day of the Central New York Highland games at Longbranch Park.

If that is not proof that the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite does not go dark in the summer, consider this: recruiting new brothers for the rite is something every 32nd degree Mason needs to take up as a personal goal. We cannot afford to wait to talk with our Masonic brothers during the months we confer degrees. Share with your friends the good you experience in Scottish Rite. Share with your friends who have let their membership lapse that there are ways to return to the Rite. The best time to do this work of building is during the more relaxed days of summer, when we meet our friends on the level and enjoy times of refreshment from our labor.

With all that said, thank you for the privilege of serving you as Commander-in-Chief of the Valley of Syracuse. God bless you all and God bless your families in all that you do.

Ill. Lynwood Bennerson, 33°
Commander-in- Chief
